The hotel is a refurbished town house from 1866 and as such the exterior's original features of stone and large windows remain. Internally the 19th century atmosphere can be felt through the old, brick-vaults in the basement and in the staircase. As the sister hotel to the Hotel Hellsten on the opposite side of the road, the Rex offers the very best 3 star accommodation in Stockholm. It has a feel of staying in a design hotel but with exceptionally friendly staff and attention to detail. The bathrooms are stunning and in excellent condition with black Greek imported slate tiling the walls and unfloor heating providing the luxurious feel.
